Special Guests the Military Wives Choirs
with Symphony Orchestra and Proms Finale
Thanks for joining us!
Welsh Superstar Mezzo Soprano KATHERINE JENKINS OBE will perform in Sandringham Royal Parkland as part of the Sandringham Estate’s celebrations to mark Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on Friday 3rd June 2022.
Katherine will be performing hits from throughout her career with symphony orchestra, traditional proms finale and special guests the Military Wives Choirs.
Cherished as one of Britain’s all-time favourite singers, in 2017 Katherine was officially crowned ‘the biggest selling artist of the century’ by Classic FM, and made chart history when her last album ‘Cinema Paradiso’, became her 14th UK Classical No.1 album, further cementing Katherine’s position as the world’s most prolific artist in UK Classical chart history.
As one of the UK’s greatest musical exports, multi-award winning Katherine has performed all over the world, for the Pope, for Presidents and is a favourite of the Royal Family, having been invited to sing ‘God Save The Queen’ at Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee, perform at Her Majesty’s Coronation Concerts at Buckingham Palace and by special request at Her Majesty’s 90th birthday celebrations at Windsor Castle. She has embarked upon numerous sold out tours and duetted with such names as Andrea Bocelli, José Carreras, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Bryn Terfel, Rolando Villazon, and Il Divo, amongst others. Katherine was awarded an OBE at the 2014 New Year’s Honours List for her services to music and charity and wowed audiences and critics alike with her stellar performance as Julie Jordan in Lonny Price’s semi-staged production of Carousel at the London Coliseum in 2017.

With 72 choirs and nearly 2,000 members in British military bases across the UK and overseas, the Military Wives Choirs is a charity that brings all women in the military community closer together and empowers them through singing. The emphasis is on all women: the choirs contain wives of serving personnel, but also those currently serving, veterans, mothers, sisters and daughters, and others with a military connection. 2022 sees the choirs marking the 10th anniversary of the formation of the Military Wives Choirs charity, and the network is thrilled to be performing at this event today, as a part of this very special year.
